History
History: Established by Christian Miller as C. Miller and Sons, we have been family owned and operated, serving the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas since 1913. Christian Miller, a sheet metal worker in Huntington, opened his own shop on Broadway in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He started out doing furnace work, milk can repairs, and so on. As he got comfortable doing tin roofs, he expanded into the commercial roofing industry. Christian Miller’s two sons, George and Carl, managed to keep the business alive throughout the great depression. Then in 1935, the economy started turning around and C. Miller and Sons helped in the war efforts a few years later. In 1950, George’s son Stanley started working on the roofs and helping the family business however he could. In the early 1960’s, C. Miller and Sons started to expand and grow their commercial roofing division. Nearly two decades later in 1980, Stan spun off from the company with his son Bradley and son-in-law Fred, to start CMS Roofing and focus primarily on commercial roofing. They were joined by Stan’s other son Phil a few years later. In 1995, an architectural sheet metal division was created for our customers in order to provide quality metal trim in a timely fashion. Today, CMS Roofing is comprised of 4th and 5th generations of dedicated employees.
